Tony Abbott and Wind Turbines
“Well, there is one way to get hot air blowing and the Prime Minister has done his fair share. But he got it wrong!! Wind Turbines are NOT the cause of health impacts for residents living 1 km away despite what Tony says. And then we had yet another Senate Hearing into Wind Farms where an Interim Report was published even before the Hearings had been completed. And not surprisingly, the report was critical of wind farms and called for a Wind Farm Commissioner amongst other things. I was the last person to give evidence at the last day of public submissions at the hearing in Sydney. I gave my statement via phone link and I concluded as follows:
“So to summarize, I believe that IS is not the source of any complaints due to wind turbine noise. I believe that LF audible noise may be a possible source and that the current recent research shows that wind turbine noise does not cause health impacts when A weighted criteria are met. I believe that A-weighted noise level criteria are therefore adequate to describe wind turbine noise. And I note that both the Canadian and Japanese work found that the use of A weighting was validated.”

If that doesn’t work, go to http://www.aph.gov.au/Parliamentary_Business/Committees/Senate/Wind_Turbines/Wind_Turbines/Public_Hearings and click on the Transcript link for June 29. Open the pdf and go to page 82 until the end I was only asked questions by Senators Back and Madigan.
It also worth looking at the evidence given by Professor Simon Chapman beginning on page 28 of the same transcript
