Australian Acoustical Society Annual Conference
Recently I attended the Annual AAS conference down in Cape Schanck, Victoria. I think it was a very successful conference, one of the better ones, even though, being a member of the Vic Division, one could argue that I was biased! The venue was great, the exhibition was oversold and the papers were generally of good quality. The plenary and keynote talks were excellent. The conference dinner was very well attended and it seemed everyone enjoyed talking with their colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere.
I gave a paper about my experience working for the Jerusalem City council and the acoustic challenges in Jerusalem (contact me if you would like a copy!). And there were good papers on Metro noise and building acoustics.
With over 200 people in attendance, I believe that everyone had a good time catching up with colleagues, walking thru the exhibition area and finding out what was new, and attending some good papers. Well done to Andrew Mitchell (Conference Chair and Vic Div Chair) and to his team!
I look forward to catching up with everyone at next years joint Australian/New Zealand conference in Wellington, NZ,in November 2020.
